"Amazing! A must to visit."
[…] Small group is a must for a Vatican tour given the amount of important art pieces and culturally important items you will see.We booked a tour on line and our group was very small, 8 people. Perfect. The Vatican does have an attire policy so just keep that in mind as well. Whether attending for faith, art appreciation or culture, the tour provides great information to highlight the essential items and history of the Vatican and St. Peter’s. Great insight into the power of the Vatican over the centuries and the humor of Michelangelo when painting the Sistine Chapel.
Our guide Alessandra was knowledgeable, and great fun. She really brought the tour to life, in particular with some wonderful, insightful, reviews of many of the works of art on display which really added to our appreciation of what we were seeing. The only down side of this thoroughly enjoyable tour was the crowds. We went during the Holy Week and the crowds were ridiculous denying us any abilty to enjoy St Peter’s and generating quite a claustrophobic sensation during most of the tour of the Museums. My tip, avoid days immediatley around major church holidays but this tour is definitely worth the money. Highly recommended!! And ask for Alessandra! Just stay away form the church holidays!
"Rabil is amazing! Worth every cent."
After being very skeptical about another tour, I can’t tell you how happy we were we got on this one. […] Rabil was incredible. I found him hysterical and he told us a lot of interesting info, kept us awake and really took the time to make it memorable. Great experience and worth skipping the line too!
"Guided tour by Roberto: Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel"
On our way to the museum we met with Hussein who took us to the offices and gave us an offer that we haven’t regret for a second, and all with a smile. The tour started right on time and our tour guide Roberto was simply GREAT. As a person who hates guided tour… I surprisingly enjoyed every second of it… Roberto was VERY informative and funny.
"Eugene Hertoghe is the perfect guide!"
Eugene was very knowledgable, entertaining and managed our large tour group well. He pointed out the important things to see and explained more than I ever would have gotten from the museums if I had gone by myself. I would highly recommend him.
"Gabriel was amazing!"
Gabriel is the best tour guide on the planet. […] He made space for us Next to each site of interest and gave full explanations of what we were seeing. He kept the group together in the crowds and made sure we could hear. Before entering the most crowded portion which was the Sistine chapel, he bought coffee for the group and made sure our lavatory needs were met before proceeding. […] Gabriel had an amazing attitude and never got annoyed with our many demands including for a gift shop which he guided us to at the end. He was very pleasant and the tour was well worth the money paid!
We booked a day tour at the Vatican with Maya tours and our tour guide is Eugene Hertoghe. Eugene has made our day at the vatican so beautiful and very exciting. He is very knowledgeable and knows every details of all parts of the Vatican. Great personality and beautiful scene of humour. We loved his company and he made us enjoy our tour. He is very organised and tolerant.
"Money really well spent"
Hi. We don’t often use Tour Guides but found this the best way to visit the Vatican, to see all that mattered without queueing in the sun for hours or standing for long periods of time. Jason was our tour guide, very quick on his feet, an American who delivered our English speaking tour very clearly and with humour thrown in. We thought Jason was great, his hi tech radio headsets were also fab. Skip the line with tour guide was extremely helpful and worthwhile at £40 per ticket. We considered it money really well spent!
We made our way towards the Vatican museum ticket office and luckily bumped into a very nice Spanish guy who suggested this company. Maya Tours were absolutely brilliant. Our tour guide was Lebanese and was very knowledgable and funny. He made sure all the 20 people in our tour got the best out of the visit and his explanation of the history behind how the Vatican came to be and Michael Angelo’s Sistine chapel made us appreciate what we were looking at so much more than if we had just bought a ticket. The tour lasted about two and a half hours. Definately recommend this company.

"Worth every cent for Vatican Tour"
Our family of eight visited the Vatican during late December. The lines were hours long and we decided to join a Maya Tour. It was worth the cost in every way: we skipped the horrific lines and learned a great deal from our guide Deborah. The headsets allowed us to hear Deborah while looking somewhat independently during the tour. The tour group was huge — at least fifty, but Deborah was knowledgable and kept the tour interesting and snappy to young and old alike for several hours. Comments directed at a family accused of being gypsy pickpockets were a shock and the accuracy of the accusations is unknown. You might say this set the tone for theft and taking whatever one pleased as we learned about the history of the Vatican. Watch your pockets, indeed.
